Whether you visit us for a one-off treatment or a longer course of action, at TMJ & Cervico Craniofacial Pain QLD. (TCPQ), we make sure our patients play an active role in their recovery so they can remain pain-free once treatment ends. Allevia Integrative Health incorporates a cross-referral system with emphasis on collaborative care following a thorough assessment and screening process that involves other specialists including Oral Maxilllo-facial Surgeons/Prosthodontists and other specialists. Our mission is to ensure high-quality patient-centered care, with a thoughtful understanding for the individual journey, whole body, mind and need for patient-centered care. Its important to create a mindful and empathetic triage process at times when referral on may be needed and ensure the right combination of health professionals can come on board to support your journey.
General Physiotherapy
It is important to remember our bodies are a complex biomechanical system. Restoring movement, awareness and conditioning are important, particularly if other ailments are influencing the development of headaches, neck and jaw pain! Treating just your facial pain in isolation is often not necessarily the best way to approach your recovery. Prevention is key, and setting habits are critical to the process.
Vestibular Disorders
Vestibular disorders commonly occur and share a direct relationship with biomechanical issues related to the TMJ structures, upper cervical spine and sensory processing involved. Therefore, we believe it important to offer assessment and treatment specific to Vestibular related conditions. Not all physiotherapists are trained in assessing and treating these conditions.
